A slower stretch of coast
Khanom sits between Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat, on a bay the tour buses mostly drive past. Long flat sand, fishing boats in the morning, and hills behind the town that go green in the rain.

Getting around
Wheels, arranged for you
Khanom spreads out. The sand is a minute away, but the market, the caves and the viewpoints sit a few kilometres apart and there is no taxi rank to speak of. There is almost no traffic either: the coast road south towards Sichon is one people ride for the road itself.
